I started this site about 10 years ago as a professional web page to provide information about myself and my work, share some of my writings and provide references to web sources I found to be useful in the areas of organization development, change management and evaluation. Over the years I felt a need to broaden the coverage of the site by including a bit of my story, illustrated with images. Then I thought I could take it a step forward by sharing our travel experiences around the globe. Though it is in its early stages, this is how the new site evolved.
I began taking digital photographs in 2002. The number of photographs my wife and I took after 2002 minuscules the images taken with 35 mm film. (Melek had returned from her trip to China with 3000 digital images, equivalent to 83 rolls of 35 mm 36 exposure film.) In addition to the photos we took with 35 mm film we had a bunch of print photos from our families. In preparation for developing this site I had the images from 35mm film digitized through a commercial service. To digitize print photos I used Epson’s Fastfoto (FF-640).
The site has three types of content: First, for those interested in my professional background and resume there is a page About Selçuk Özgediz. Second, there are pages devoted to my family history under the menu item Family Photos. Third, we tried to capture our travel experience around the globe under the the menu link to Travel Photos.
Building the new site proved to be more complicated than my earlier site. Fortunately, my long-time friend and accomplished photographer Cemal Ekin came to the rescue with his coaching and advice which I gratefully acknowledge. I encourage readers of this page to visit his web site Kept Light Photography (www.keptlight.com) for professional advice on photography and a look at his rich portfolios.
This site is a work in progress, being developed as we speak. I encourage and welcome comments through the Contacts page.
